A blog on teaching language, linguistics, parenting, and more
Between 2008 and 2015 I kept an intermittent blog. It's pretty much dead now, but I keep it around for posterity.
At the time, I was teaching Spanish, occasionally programming, English, and also I had young children learning language.
Looking back, I've got some fun stuff, such as where I get
mad at Spanish textbooks for teaching pronouns wrong or mad at the New York Times for letting David Brooks
make up facts about language without taking the time to use n-grams right. Ok, it may be that I'm a bit
more curmedgeonly than I remember, but there's also some fun stuff in there about teaching and learning language, and
also some notes on how to use unix commandline scripts to lay out a school newspaper to fold correctly ;)
